• It would be ideal if more individuals could live their lives and follow the inner guidance of their TRUE SELF. This would enable them to discern right relationships, right work tasks, and right employment cultures that would provide meaning and purpose and be adequately paid to do what they enjoy and value doing using the talents they have to successfully accomplish their work.
  
  
• It would be ideal if more companies/employers were clear about the importance of spirituality in their corporate mission, company goals, and objectives to cost-effectively achieve corporate objectives and realize a suitable profit with integrity.
  

As the world of work evolves, many stakeholders including teachers, counselors, counselor educators, the corporate environment, agencies, and parents must respond with strategies that meet clients’ emerging career development concerns, including people's desire for work with meaning and purpose. Today, more than ever, people encounter career development tasks that require them to engage in lifelong learning, tolerate ambiguity in job security, balance substantial demands from work and non-work life roles, and maintain a high level of self and occupational awareness. Many clients presenting themselves for career counseling have been unsuccessful at coping with these tasks, and effective career counseling models need to be devised to help clients cope with such broad career development concerns. This is a challenge for all career development professionals, career services providers, and counselor educators.

The time is right for a focus on spirituality as a discipline within career development. The time is right for fostering an attitude of choosing careers with a purpose; the time is right for inspiring youth to aim for their greatest potential, their callings, so they may contribute their gifts to the community, the nation, our Planet.
