I'm sure many of you have read some of my posts and asked "Ok, now where should I go or what do you want me to do next, or where do I return to ...".

I'm now sensitive to these kinds of questions and, from this point on, I will be adding a variant of one of the following lines to each post that I create or edit. I recommend that you consider doing the same so your readers do not get lost.

I'm including the raw HTML code under each - in red - so that you can pick one that is close to what you want and COPY and PASTE it into your posts and customize it to your needs.

So, as you create or edit your LWPS posts, keep in the back of your mind the question "Where would I like my readers to go after they have read my post?".

  1. Return to My LWP

    <hr><em><font color="#901800">Return to <a href=http://lifeworkps.com/hubbard/weblog/24.html>My LWP</a></em><hr></font>

  2. (I'll add more later)

Here's and explanation of the HTML code used above.

  • "<hr>" creates a solid line. (I did not use it in the examples above.)
  • "<em>" converts text to italics and "</em>" ends that emphasis.
  • "<font color="#901800">" Sets up the color of the non-hyperlink text. "</font>" ends the color definition. I like the color of burgundy which has a color code of 901800. Click here if you want a different color code.

If you wish to suggest improvements to these instructions, please add a comment.

The LWPS team "seeded" this "Who am I" section of your profile so you could see what it looks like.

Click "Edit this profile" (in the upper left) to edit or delete this text and change its access restriction. Remember to go to the bottom to save your changes.

This "Who am I" section in your personal profile is just one of over 33 profile sections where you can list information about yourself - such as Basic details, Location, Contact, Employment and Education - for others to see. Each of the 33 sections can be restricted so only certain members or groups of members can view them.

I am noticing that some posts contain similar (and in some cases exactly the same) information as in other posts. This is redundant duplicate data that will cause the authors the following two problems in the future.

  1. If you have more than one copy of the same information, there may/will come a time when that information will change and you will have the time consuming task of 1) trying to find those duplicate posts, and 2) editing all of them to contain the new updated information. It is much better to maintain that information in ONE place and provide links to it where needed.
  2. Soon, I will be requesting donations for excess storage used beyond some level (yet to be determined - click on "Tip Jar" link for more information). The leaner your account is the less that request will be.

Welcome to LifeWork Planning Services (LWPS).

If you do not receive your registration confirmation email, please check your spam folder.

When you log into your new LWPS account, please look for three (3) areas that we have "seeded" in your personal LWPS blog. They are 1) a post in your personal blog entitled "Why is creating posts in my personal blog so important?", 2) a very important area in the upper right sidebar of your blog called your "Brief Description", and 3) your "Who Am I" section in "Your Profile". They will give you a sense of what you can do with your blog.

Review the links that are included and edit and change them as you please.

(We apologize that this emial message is not formatted. We are working on a fix.)

Welcome to LifeWork Planning Services (LWPS).

The next three (3) paragraphs are a duplication of a previous email you received when you started your LWPS registration process. This is a confirmation email after you registered and logged into your account. You might want to keep it until you have become familiar with LWPS's features and functions.
