Why is a blogging platform like LWPS better than me creating an e-zine or simply e-mailing an article to those who might be interested in the topic?

A blog post is better than an e-mail because ...

  1. a blog post can be revised
  2. anyone in the world can read the public post and comments (They don't need to be on a distribution list)
  3. readers can comment on the post, if they are a registered LWPS member
  4. a public blog post can be found by any search engine. (So new interested participants can join in the conversation.)
  5. are easier to read and follow threads of conversations
  6. you can link to a public post (you can't link to an e-mail)
  7. A blog post is perceived to be more “permanent” than an e-mail.
