As of 4/6/2008 ...
  • there are a total of 77 communities1. The top two community owners are:
    1. 34: Pete Hubbard
    2. 23: Dr. Sally Gelardin

  • there are 191 members. The most active members (beside myself) are Dr. Sally Gelardin and Dr. Ed Colozzi. There are other career counselors, coaches and facilitators.
  • there are 3258 posts1. Most are mine and private because I am still working on them.
  • LWPS's infrastructure is about 25% complete. Many of my public posts still need (a lot of) work. This post describes my schema for identifying the relative state of completion of LWPS and my LWPS posts.

1 If you click on the "Browse" button under the Search box in the upper right, you will see where all of these posts reside.

Please perform the following tasks to get setup on LWPS.

  1. Join this community: In the upper right sidebar of this LWPS Development community, you will find the "Profile Owner" box. At the bottom of that box is the link that says "Click here to join this community". Please click on it to join this community.
  2. Add some "friends": Click on these links (me and Jeffrey), then click on the link at the bottom of each of our "Profile Owner" boxes that says "Click here to make this person a friend."
  3. Create a GAR: I created a Group Access Restriction (GAR) called "Contractor only" so only you and I can view certain posts. I will add "Using Contractor only GAR" on those private posts. After you make me a friend, create a GAR called something like "Pete only" so you can restrict your private posts to me. After you make Jeffrey your friend, create a GAR for both Jeffrey and I and call it something like "Pete and Jeffrey only".
  4. Set your email option: Click on your "Account Settings" in upper right corner and set your "Email options" to "Yes" so you receive email when comments are added to posts that you "marked as interesting". In the current 0.4 release, you do not get email about comments that someone made to your comments. The new release 0.7 fixes that.
  5. Create a "TOC" post: In the upper left corner, you will find the link "Your Blog". Click on it anytime you want to go to your personal/professional blog. Please click on it. Under your name, you will see the link "Post an entry". Click on it. Create a post with a title of either "TOC" or "Table of Contents" or whatever you wish, then set the Access Restriction to "Public" and SAVE the post. We will add content to it in a subsequent step.
  6. Link to "TOC" post: To the far right of the line where you found "Your Blog" find the link "Your Profile". Click on it (or your iconic image in your "Profile Owner" box) anytime you want to go to your personal/professional profile. Please click on it. Click on "Edit your profile", then scrool down a few lines to find the "Brief Description" section. Type in a link to your TOC post. Set the Access Restriction to "Public". Go to the bottom and SAVE your changes. Notice the appearance of a hyperlink in your "Profile Owner" box to your "TOC" post.
  7. Create a public "Mailbox" post so Jeffrey, I and others can add comments to communicate with you. See mine as an example. Add a link to it in your "TOC" or in your "Brief Description".
  8. When you have completed these tasks, add a comment to this post to that effect. I will get an email.
  9. Now click on this post # 1922 and follow the instructions to copy its contents into the TOC post in your blog.

You are receiving this email because you are a registered member of the LifeWork Planning Services (LWPS) blogging platform.

Please read this LWPS post that describes a recent significant upgrade to the platform. (I revised it early this morning 2/7.)

That post also contains information on how to recover your password or username, if you forgot them, or how to ask us to delete your account.
