My work on LWPS is inspired and framed by a vision I call "6/6B". It means "On a planet with over six (6) billion people, how do I quickly and easily find at least six (6) people who share my vision, passion, and/or interests (VPIs) and who want to collaborate with me to transform them into joyful work that satisfies our souls?"

There are several critical components that must be “invented” before we can achieve 6/6B.

1. Everyone on the planet will need to create and maintain a standard encrypted file that contains their key 6/6B information. I call this a 6/6B Profile (6/6BP).
2. Everyone needs to use the same digital process (irrespective of platforms) to discover, define, clarify and verify one’s current VPIs, and create, maintain, search and match each 6/6BP.
3. The 6/6BP must be standardized, comprehensive and easily created and maintained.
4. The 6/6BP will be a product of LWPS and LWPS-like platforms.
5. LWPS is built upon a customized version of Elgg.

So far, the only thing in this vision that exists today is Elgg and parts of LWPS.

Structure

The 6/6BP will

  1. use XML coding
  2. use data and information from your LWPS Profile, and rollups of all posts tagged with "My 6/6BP".

It might also use "My CV via Europass 'cv.xml' on my desktop - upload to Europass CV"

LifeWork Planning Services

3/2/07 - Eifle-team CV/Europass/OSPI

The thought of having our CVs - our life's work - reduced to a single number could be unnerving especially to those who are only about to embark on their scientific careers. On the other hand, knowing in advance that such a parameter exists - which could very well be the basis for evaluation in future employment applications - may also help one in mapping out the best strategies for scientific productivity and career advancement.

Using the "Community introduction" tag to help readers find ALL LWPS communities

When you create a new community, no one can find it unless you tell them about it, or if you use a very simple tagging convention.

Just add the tag "Community introduction" (w/o the quotes) to the keywords section of a post you create to introduce your community.

--- I'll add this line to a post in a new community. ---

Please read this post that describes how you can make it easy for someone to learn about your new community.

Keywords: 5/14, 80%, all, comments, Community introduction, hph, key, keywords, lwpsdevelop, MAI, Please write an introductory post for your community and add the tag "Community introduction" to the keywords section1

My LWP (LifeWork Profile)

It is not easy deciding what is most important; nor should it be. LifeWork planning is tedious.

Instructions to follow AFTER you COPY and PASTE the template into the “Post body”:

  1. If you want to learn about the HTML codes that are used in this post, click here.
  2. Edit this post

    1. CUT and PASTE this text into the "Post title" box: My Introduction
    2. CUT and PASTE this text into the "Keywords box": 20%, 3/19, your-initials, intro posts, My, My Introduction, My LWP, (any other posts you wish)
    3. If something changes in this template, you should know about it so you can decide if you want to incorporate the changes into your "My Introduction" post.

      1. Click here to learn about "Marking a post as interesting", then click here to go to the template and mark it as interesting.
      2. Click here to learn about setting your email options, then set it if you have no objections. You can always change it later.
      3. If you are interested, click here to look at Pete's post.

    4. Delete everything in this "instruction" section that is no longer useful to you.

  1. Keep the following instructions in your post until they are no longer useful to you.

    1. The links below under "My Introduction" point to posts on Pete Hubbard’s personal weblog. Each time you create your own equivalent post on your personal weblog, return here to edit the link to change the username to yours and to replace his post# with the post# of your new post. I.e. the post number for Pete’s vision post is 211. You’ll find the post # for each of your posts at the end of the URL in your browser’s address box just before you edit it.
    2. When you edit this post, the last line in the template text says "... owner=2". Pete is owner 2. You need to change it to your owner number. While you are editting this (your new) post, look at your browser's address box and see "owner=" at the end of the URL. That is your owner number. Change the "2" to your owner number. Now, when you click this link you will see all posts YOU created that contain the tag "intro posts".

    My Introduction

(Compose your introduction here. Consider COPYing and PASTEing it into the “Who am I” section of “Your Profile”.)

  1. CP009: Build a function to the right of [edit][delete] on each post that creates a hyperlink (URL plus title) in my clipboard for this post so I can paste into another post.
  2. CP011: Add an "LWPS Admin" function to change "weblog" assignment for a post. Ie: I want to change post 2120 from weblog = 46 to 30. I'm tagging with "Move".
  3. CP008: Build a DB of storage use that will be used to request contributions and moderate functions when contributions are not forthcoming.
  4. 2/7/08 - COPY source code for these two functions on Eduspace - Download blog as HTML | Download blog as RSS so we can use them on LWPS to allow personal manual backup of posts. I will charge users for this function.
  5. CP004/CP006: Plugins and widgets
    1. Review Creating your own customized plugins before writing plugin code since I may be offering these plugins back to Elgg.
    2. Tell me what is involved in uploading one, a few, or all of the current plugins/widgets on the test system and the live system.
    3. How easy is it to remove one or more plugins/widget.
    4. Look at AddThis.com
    5. Install selected plugins/widgets. 9/5: KiteCV
  6. CP00?: How easy would it be to modify the code so that one could type lifeworkps.com/2240 to jump to post # 2240?
  7. A plugin to moderate/approve registration requests. When someone wants to register, ask them to give the name of the person who invited them, or how they found out about LWPS, so I can approve. Give me two links in the e-mail where I can approve or disapprove with comment, and make the e-mail come from LWPS not my hubbard@waypt.com.
  8. {{LWPSSORTstart, , , }} items to be sorted  {{LWPSSORTstop}} with tag of “LWPSSORT asc!desc”. When sort is done, reset tag to “LWPSSORT off asc|desc” and add info msg “LWPSSORT tag reset to “off”. Remove “off” when you wish to do another sort.” If no “LWPSSORTSTART” or “LWPSSORTSTOP” does not exist, say so in an info msg, with a link to help topic on LWPSSORT command.  (See how NetFlix sorts it's videos - http://www.netflix.com/Queue?prioritized=true
  9. Integrate and Install MediaWiki
  10. On "edit" line, if Admin, add a tab to view member info. (Posts, profile, when joined, last used, size, subscription, )
  11. Recreate a list of members or communties when a new member joins or a new community is created.
  12. "Rollup" posts into a concatented weblog post based upon a tag or tags. A variant on the "presentation" plugin.
  13. {{LWPSEDIT, tag1, tag2, tag3,}} get a listing of all posts that match those tags and next to each title are two links View or Edit. And this LWPS command stays at the top in case I want to submit a new set of tags.
  14. {{LWPSCOMPLETE, tag1, tag2, tag3,}} Search for tag1 which will normally be a per-centage complete like 60%, then search for subsequent tags, then, if TOTAL is included, just list the number. HPH = 23% CCC = 08%
  15. "Autotagger" design specs
  16. Print function (options on what to print)
  17. Admin Control Panel
    1. Username|name(profile|email|startdate|Plan & # of posts|Plan & # of communities|# files|Plan & max file size|

    3. Counters for views (total, weekly) for all posts
    4. Add text (from my admin) info about communities (free/fee)

All completed projects have been tagged (see below) with "LWPS projects completed by Diana".

  1. [2] Info/err msgs are inserted in color at the top, just like “Post has been updated”.
  2. Control for most of these plugins will be in the use of tags. E.g. See LWPSCOPY

The center's mission is to maximize the effective and efficient use of occupational information by providing specialized occupational tools (files, reports, software) and technical assistance to users and producers of occupational information.

NCSC main website

FTP downloads of Access files at - ftp://ftp.xwalkcenter.org/DOWNLOAD/onet80/

Pete -- let's deal with your questions in reverse order. All of the information in the O*NET database is in the public domain, but it you develop products that contain O*NET information, the O*NET Center asks that you register with them. See http://www.onetcenter.org/database.html#user You should take a look at the O*NET Database Products User Agreement that's referenced. I couldn't find it on their web site, so I'm asking for a link. I'll pass that along when I get it.

Regarding the database -- I'm at something of a disadvantage here, since I'm not an Access user. So, I'll outline the process and let you translate that into Access queries. Here goes --

1. From the WorkValue table, I extracted a unique list of the values in the Element ID variable. That gives a list of the elements included in the Work Value subject area. 2. I matched this list with the contents of the Oet_content_model_reference table and kept only the content model records that matched the ID variable from the WorkValue table. That's what I pasted into the Word doc I sent to you. Since I was dealing with a small number of records I simply cut and pasted them into the doc. If you were working for more, you should be cut from your query results and past that into Word.

I hope that helps.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

After you create a few dozen posts you will wonder what they were and how to find them.

You could click on "Your Blog" and scroll down through every post you created, but that might take a long time since you are looking at the content of each post.

It would be cleaner and quicker if you could just see a listing of the titles of your posts.

So, if you tag all your posts with your initials, you will be able to click on your intials or search for your intials and see a listing of the titles of every post you created.

Click on the 'hph' tag below to see a listing of all of my posts.

You should create a "My Table of Contents" post to collect links to your key posts. You should be no more than three (3) clicks away from every post you have ever created.
