CP012: Issues with TinyMCE

I notice that since you installed the new version of TinyMCE that all comments are double spaced. This does not happen in a regular post.

Can the font size in the edit area be changed (increased)?

Contents of email notifying all LWPS members of pending upgrade of LWPS

You are receiving this email because you are a registered member of the LifeWork Planning Services (LWPS) blogging platform.

The LWPS team is planning to upgrade LWPS to a new version starting this Friday (2/8) morning at 4 am. We will lock the system until we have completed the upgrade which we hope will only take a few hours. We are prepared to work during the weekend to fix any problems we encounter.

We will send you an email when we have completed the upgrade. It will point to this post which describes some of the improvements, issues and how to get in touch with us.

We will backup the complete database with everyone's records before we begin the upgrade.

Change Theme on Account Settings

On DEV LWPS, one can go to their "Account Settings", then click on "Change theme", but there are no themes there to use. Could you create a new post for this and add a link to it in this post?

To create a new theme:
1. In 'Account Settings', click 'Change Theme'.
2. Go to 'Create Theme' at the bottom of the page.
3. Enter desired theme name.
4. Select which theme the new theme should be based on.
5. Click 'Create Theme'.
6. Find your created theme, then at the right side, click 'Edit'.
7. Edit CSS and/or Page Shell as desired.

To add a new theme:

According to the ELGG Documentation:

Unwrap the zip file of the theme.
Upload the contents to 'mod/template/templates/'
That is it - Elgg will pick up the new theme and offer it to your users.

Below is a sequential list of activities that need to be successfully completed before, during and after we upgrade LIVE LWPS with Elgg 0.8.1.

Please add your comments with any changes, suggestions, comments, or questions.

I need to finalize the "new member seed" posts
I created this post to list problesm with have with this upgrade and added a link to it in the Brief Description..
Set up a Skype session so we know we can do it. Diana: When is the best time for you?
Finalize this email to send out a week before we start the upgrade and this email immediately after a successful upgarde.
Questions for Diana
1. Work on this issue about no library of themes
I've asked Sally to add the comment "I have tested key posts, communities, functions, etc. on the DEV LWPS and am ready for the upgrade when you are."
Agree on date to do the upgrade. I recommend that we lock the LIVE LWPS on a Friday night so we have the weekend to fix any problems, or revert LIVE LWPS back to .7 version. See Sally's post about dates to stay away from.
I will ask Sally to add the comment "I am ready for you to lock the LIVE LWPS on the date(s) above to do the upgrade".
Fri: mm/dd/yy: A week before we do the upgrade. Get list of email addresses and send out
Finalize this email .
Upgrade process starting ~~PST Thurs 2/7 5-7am - PH Fri 2/8 10-12 pm. If required PH Sat 9-12 pm and PH Sun 9- 12pm.~~ PH 8-9am (PST 3-4pm)
1. All times below are PH pm unless stated otherwise.
2. Tasks 3-9 will take 1-2 hours: PH Fri 2/8 10-12 pm.
3. 10:00 - Create LWPS-UPGRADE folder on public_html
4. 10:05 - Create index.html which contains the "... upgrade ... LWPS locked" omessage from this post.
5. 10:10 - (5:10 am PST) - LIVE LWPS is now locked and the above messaage will appear to all users who try to access it.
6. 10:10 - Create a backup of LIVE LWPS DB so we can revert back to previous version if we encounter too many problems.
7. 10:20 - Go to pair.com, login as lifework
  1. Go to DOMAIN HOSTING MANAGEMENT
  2. On the next screen, click 'Manage'
  3. Click on 'lifeworkps.com'
  4. Click 'Change Domain Mapping'
  5. Enter /usr/www/users/lifework/LWPS-UPGRADE. lifeworkps.com will have a redirection in 15 minutes.
  6. Return to 'Manage Domain Names Already on My Account' by clicking it
  7. Click 'wiki.lifeworkps.com'. On the next screen, click 'Change Domain Mapping'.
  8. After clicking, enter '/usr/www/users/lifework/LWPS/'. We can access the http://wiki.lifeworkps.com/ which contains the (offline) LIVE LWPS.
8. 10:30 - Dump the live DB to the DEV DB
9. 10:40 - Run 'move_user_pics.php'.
10. Tasks 3-9 will take 1-2 hours: PH Fri 2/8 10-12 pm.
11. Saturday, 09 February PH: Tasks 12-16 will take the whole Saturday, and I will need all your help on this. I'll be able to work on the issues on Saturday night, from 9PM onwards. I'll be able to work on these issues again at 6PM, Sunday.
12. Sat - Compare http://dev.lifeworkps.com and http://wiki.lifeworkps.com/
13. Sat - Do an initial test of LIVE LWPS w/o the customization specified in this post.
14. Sat - ? Apply customization specified in the above post. ? Is this needed, or is all customization in the http://dev.lifeworkps.com?
15. Sat - Retest LIVE LWPS.
16. Sat - If there are minor issues and is solvable within the weekend, then do so.
17. Sun - If there's a go signal that all is well, dump LWPS DEV DB to the live DB. Sunday, 10 February PH: This will take about 20-30 mins.
18. Sun - Move LWPS folder to LWPS.BAK
19. Sun - Copy contents the LWPS-DEV folder to LWPS
20. Sun - Change domain mapping of lifeworkps.com to /usr/www/users/lifework/LWPS/
  
  Sunday, 10 February PH: This will take about 10 mins., but we'll have to wait until the domain mapping has been changed (depends on the server).
21. Sun - LIVE LWPS is upgraded and unlocked. Notify Sally that LIVE LWPS is unlocked and ready to use.

Issues with the new release (0.8.1) of LWPS

New release 0.8 of LWPS/Elgg changes the appearance of community profiles. Please comment.

To all LWPS members who have created LWPS communities,

Most of us who have created LWPS communities have added text to the "Who Am I" section of the community profiles and that text is prominently displayed when anyone goes to that community profile.

We are testing [1] the new release 0.8 of Elgg and have discovered it significantly changes the way profiles are displayed. I need to ask for your comments in order to decide what course of action to take. I'm not in a hurry about this, particularly with the NCDA conference next week. But I would like to start a dialog sometime around mid-July.

So that you can compare the current with the new version. pick any community profile and display it. Edit the link/URL in your browser and add "dev." in front of "... lifeworkps.com/ ..." so it looks like "... dev.lifeworkps.com/ ... Hit the Enter key to browse that community on the development/test (DEV) platform. Remove the "dev." and you are back to the current/production/live (LIVE) LWPS.

Note on the DEV system that the "Who Am I" section is not displayed.

Note also that your personal profile on the DEV has the option to "Add a widget" that allows you to add/display any section(s) of your profile - including your "Who Am I' section. BUT NOTE that this "Add a widget" function is not available on communities.

The simple solution is for me to contract with Diana (our programmer) to add that widget to the community profiles.
Another is to ask the Elgg developers if they plan to add that widget. (I don't anticipate a prompt response.)
Possible solution three is to rework all of our profiles so we don't depend upon the "Who Am I" section. We just use the "Brief Description" to offer a link to a post in the community that contains the contents of the community profile.
What are your thoughts about these "solutions"?
What other ideas do you have?

[1] I have no date, nor date for a date when the current/live LWPS will be using the new release 0.8 Elgg code.

Initial setup for person wanting to help me develop the content, context and navigation in LWPS

Please perform the following tasks to get setup on LWPS.

Join this community: In the upper right sidebar of this LWPS Development community, you will find the "Profile Owner" box. At the bottom of that box is the link that says "Click here to join this community". Please click on it to join this community.
Add me as your "friend": Click on this link to my blog, then click on the link at the bottom of my "Profile Owner" box that says "Click here to make this person a friend."
Create a GAR: I created a Group Access Restriction (GAR) so only you and I can view certain posts. I will add "Only you and I can view this post" on private posts between us. After you make me a friend, create a GAR called something like "Pete only" so you can restrict your private posts to me.
Set your email option: Click on your "Account Settings" in upper right corner and set your "Email options" to "Yes" so you receive email when comments are added to posts that you "marked as interesting". In the current 0.4 release, you do not get email about comments that someone made to your comments. The new release 0.7 fixes that.
Create a "TOC" post: In the upper left corner, you will find the link "Your Blog". Click on it anytime you want to go to your personal/professional blog. Please click on it. Under your name, you will see the link "Post an entry". Click on it. Create a post with a title of either "TOC" or "Table of Contents" or whatever you wish, then set the Access Restriction to "Public" and SAVE the post. We will add content to it in a subsequent step.
Link to "TOC" post: To the far right of the line where you found "Your Blog" find the link "Your Profile". Click on it (or your iconic image in your "Profile Owner" box) anytime you want to go to your personal/professional profile. Please click on it. Click on "Edit your profile", then scrool down a few lines to find the "Brief Description" section. Type in a link to your TOC post. Set the Access Restriction to "Public". Go to the bottom and SAVE your changes. Notice the appearance of a hyperlink in your "Profile Owner" box to your "TOC" post.
Mailbox: Create a public "Mailbox" post so I and others can add comments to communicate with you. See mine as an example. Add a link to it in your "Brief Description".
Posts: Create the following posts using the "Pete only" GAR and add a link in your TOC for each. Don't try to finish them. Just add a few items in the first three posts and a paragraph or two in your brief autobiography. Also, copy the post title and paste it into the Keywords section under the body. Also, add your initials to the Keywords section of each post you make.

4. My brief autobiography
5. The value of LWPS to me
6. My concerns about LWPS
7. My thoughts about these two projects: my question and LWPS development.
When you have completed these tasks, add a comment to this post to that effect. I will get an email and I'll respond to begin the discussion of how we will approach these two projects: your question and LWPS development.
