(1) Labor Market Information and Resources
(2) Career Technology
(3) Job Search and Employability Skills
When I started gathering material for the curriculum, I soon became overwhelmed with the quantity of material available, and found too many lists and "how to" formulas. I needed to learn by creating. After gathering material, I sifted through it to identify key information, strategies and resources that would be most valuable for my CDF students. Since the above competencies are the first skills that clients/students seek when they are job-hunting, I figured they would be the best place to start. My job is to keep the curriculum current, easy to use, and readily applicable.
Then, rather than pretending to know it all, I created an online course so students could explore these competencies within a framework, on their own, at their own pace, mastering a body of knoweldge in their environment of choice.
My goal is to earn an income by providing the best online job search strategies and employability course available in the market so workers in transition worldwide can find satisfying work. By creating an online course, I can work comfortably at my home computer, and my students can study in their environment of choice, at any time of day or night, working on the Internet highway, rather than the sitting in business hour traffic.
