Pete Hubbard (LWPS Founder) :: Blog :: Add these tags to your "Keywords" box for these reasons

Add a date when you created and last edited your posts

I use the closest Sunday as my date. If a post is reasonably stable, change the tag to indicate the quarter you are in and the year - "xQyyyy" I.e. 3Q2006. Or just use the year. But EVERY post should have one of these kinds of a dates on it so you can find them easily.
This becomes a powerful tool when you want to know what posts you worked on this week, or what posts haven't been reviewed in ages.

Add a percentage complete for every post

A percentage complete tag like 20, 40 ,60, 80, 100% makes it easy to find posts that need a lot, a little or no work.

Additional tags

  1. empty: Rather than deleting a post, clear it out and add the tag "empty". Then do a search for YOUR "empty" posts, and reuse/edit them.
  2. private: If you are drafting a post, save it with an AR of "Private" and either a tag of "draft" or "20%". Then just search for "draft" or "20%" to find post in draft mode.
  3. presentations: For your past and future presentations
  4. ?: ?
  5. ?: ?
  6. Reflect upon your post. Ask yourself what tags people would try to use to search for this post. Type them in the keywords box. Sometimes you can just copy in the entire title.

Keywords: 10/14, 2007, 3 clicks, 40%, 4Q07, 80%, About mm/dd, About pp%, Add these tags to your "Keywords" box for these reasons, all, CEU, CEUs, hints, Hints and Tips, hph, hph, initials, key, LWPS CEUs, new member, tagging, tags, tips, your-initials

  1. I think the topic of tags may be a bit confusing to the new user. However, this post does help clarify the method, process and rationale -- Thanks.
