There are three (3) goals for this exercise. <ol type="1"><br />
<li>Create an LWPS post to explore occupations based upon work values.</li><br />
<li>Show you what occupations are listed when you search based upon different work values.</li><br />
<li>Begin to assemble a list of occupations that you will want to explore further.</li><br />
</ol>This process will be much easier and quicker if you open three windows on your computer to see 1) this topic, 2) the O*NET Online webpage below, and 3) your LWPS account.<br /><br />In another window, one Go to this LWPS post and select "Copy" to the right of the "Edit | Delete" line to copy/create a duplicate post in your personal blog. e a post in your LWPS personal blog and give it a title of title it <br /><br />Go to this <a href="http://www.onetcenter.org/content.html/1.B.2?d=1#cm_1.B.2" target="_blank">O*NET webpage</a> and read the descriptions for each of the  six (6) work values and the 21 corresponding needs. <br /><br />Select your five (5) MOST important work values/needs and record them in your "My Work Values" post. Keep that post in edit-mode so you can record what happens next. <br /><br />Select your MOST important work value/need and type it into the Occupation Quick Search box in the upper right corner of the <a href="http://online.onetcenter.org/find/" target="_blank">O*NET Find Occupation webpage</a>. <br /><br />Review the list of occupations and copy any that have some appeal to you. (List them in yoru LWPS post.)<br /><br />Now type in your second MOST important work value and see the change in the list an drecord any occupations that appeal to you. valuepye add ievalueoselect the five most important work values you have. For example, mine are &lt;ol&gt;&lt;li&gt;Independence&lt;li&gt;creativity&lt;li&gt;autonomy&lt;li&gt;Moral values&lt;/ol&gt; Come back often to review your choices.<br /><br />Now, edit &lt;a href=<a href="http://online.onetcenter.org/find/quick?s=indepencdence%2C+creativity&amp;g=Go">http://online.onetcenter.org/find/quick?s=indepencdence%2C+creativit</a>&gt;this link&lt;/a&gt; to list occupations that match. Pick out the top five occupations and list them here&lt;ol&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;/ol&gt;  <br />
