Your LifeWork is what you were meant to do, what gives you joy, and what satisfies your soul.
Please read the following before you decide to register.
LifeWork Planing Services (LWPS) is ...
- a one-of-a-kind free (for basic services) e-learning social networking community blogging platform
- where you will record, review, reflect upon and revise private, semi-private and/or public posts that contain key information about yourself (like "My values", “My interests”, “My accomplishments”, “My Functional Transferable Skills”, “My …”, etc.) that you will use in career/lifework planning activities to make considered and informed career decisions that will make your dreams your LifeWork. You will link all of the posts you create into your most important post called your "My LifeWork Portal" which may look like mine.
However, LWPS is not for everyone.
LWPS is only attractive (and therefore useful) to you if ...
- you understand the subtle distinction between a job, an occupation, a career and what I call LifeWork, AND
- job satisfaction, quality of life, work/life balance, knowing your calling, and making your dreams your lifework are important to you, AND
- you know that one of the prerequistes to achieving that is 1) developing a deep understanding of yourself (values, interests, skills, etc.) and 2) making informed and considered career decisions, AND
- you know that writing that information down and collecting it somewhere is the only effective path to that understanding and decision making, AND
- you know that easy access to that information is critical so you can periodically review it, reflect upon it and revise it as needed, AND
- you will consider or you are eager to share your lifework planning knowledge and experiences with others to assist them in their lifework planning activities, AND
- (if you started one) you will consider converting or augmenting your paper portfolio into an electronic portfolio, AND
- you have a strong interest in the Internet and enjoy using it (or are eager to learn), AND
- you have or are considering creating accounts on social networking sites like MySpace, Facebook, etc., and you now see the need for your own personal blog for lifework/career planning activities, AND
- you use your computer to access the Internet more than an hour a day (or you intend to soon), AND
- you understand (or are eager to learn) a few basic html commands (hyperlinks, lists, etc.) to develop your blog including a one page summary of who you are at this instant, AND
- you want all of this in one (free - for basic services) platform for the rest of your life, AND
- you are willing to be patient with LWPS since it is a work-in-progress and constantly evolving, AND
- if you are under 18 years of age
- your parents approve and hopefully participate, and
- your parents are willing to let you use their e-mail address to receive e-mail notifications of comments to posts and announcements from LWPS, or they approve of you using your own e-mail address, and
- you have invited your school counselor to participate.
- your parents approve and hopefully participate, and
then LWPS may be right for you and you should check out the LWPS Roadmap where there is a link to the registration webpage.
If LWPS is not for you, we hope you will mark your calendar to visit us again in the future and we wish your the best.
